Apply For A WPF Grant
Who do we fund?
Windy Pines Foundation seeks to support the following types of transformative work in Colorado, with an emphasis on the Pikes Peak Region:
Organizations working to change inequitable systems or create new just systems
Organizations working directly with individuals negatively impacted by inequitable systems
Organizations promoting change within existing inequitable systems
Organizations working to create connections and understanding between/among diverse social, economic, and racial groups
Organizations that fund other organizations doing the work above.
What is our current perspective on grantmaking?
Windy Pines Foundation believes that creating and passing on generational wealth is crucial for addressing the racial equity gap in the US. Generational wealth provides families with a financial foundation supporting education, homeownership, and entrepreneurship, which are key economic stability and growth drivers. The racial generational wealth gap is deeply intertwined with the legacy of white supremacy and white privilege.
At Windy Pines Foundation, we support efforts to make reparations to address the legacy of slavery, colonization, and discrimination, while fostering healing, equity, and economic opportunity for communities that have long been marginalized.
The WPF Board of Directors acknowledges that we benefit from inequality. As such, we commit to our goal of equity in decision-making with representatives of the communities most impacted.
We are committed to humbly learning from and trusting change agents in our communities. We do not intend to propose solutions but rather to provide financial resources to community experts and leaders.
