The Windy Pines Grant Program
Furthering our vision of a more equitable Colorado by funding forward-thinking organizations that are deeply rooted in community.
Women’s Community Leadership Initiative
The Women’s Community Leadership Initiative (WCLI) is a transformative program dedicated to empowering women from low-to-moderate income backgrounds in the Pikes Peak region. WCLI believes that leadership development is a holistic process that begins with self-awareness and city engagement, and its unique six-month program equips cohort participants with the tools and knowledge needed to make a difference in their communities.
Unity Project
Unity Project (UP) is dedicated to advancing racial equity through educational programs, community engagement, and musical endeavors. Their mission is to dismantle biases within ourselves and in the world around us through service, education, and singing—leading to a more racially equitable community. The UP community dives deep into understanding the history and impact of racism and bias, then facilitates events for the broader community so others may also learn. They sing together, hold an annual concert and BBQ with a local elementary school, and create rarely-found opportunities to interact and learn in mixed-culture groups.
Community Anchor Academy
Community Anchor Academy (formerly Community Works of Colorado Springs) empowers underserved communities to remove employment barriers through comprehensive job creation, community support, health, wellness, and education initiatives. Their work will create a world where every individual, regardless of background or circumstance, has equal access to transformative education, holistic wellness, and pathways to meaningful employment.
“As we navigate the winds of change and strive to empower our community, it is essential to recognize the unwavering support and commitment of Windy Pines. When others overlooked our community, they stood as a steadfast anchor, helping us serve our participants. Together, we defy limitations, uplift lives, and create a brighter future for all."
