Food To Power
Food to Power is a community-based organization working to cultivate a healthy, equitable food system in the greater Colorado Springs community. WPF is proud to support their “Putting Down Roots” campaign to further develop their Hillside Hub facility to include a greenhouse, amphitheater, bike shed, solar infrastructure, and more as they seek to deepen their roots and empower their community for generations to come.
WPF is eager to support Food to Power’s belief that food is an essential source of everyone’s power to work, play, serve, and live. Their mission is to transform every aspect of the food system into co-powerment and equity. “From food, to power.”

Ballet Folklorico de Barajas
Ballet Folklorico De Barajas is a CO-based nonprofit that aims to share the art of traditional Mexican Folklorico Dance through education, dance classes, and traditional performances. WPF funding supports their general operations, including the expansion of their repertoire and reach.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Founded in 1926, CMZoo is driven by its mission: A leader in conservation, captive breeding, and animal care, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo connects people with wildlife and wild places through experiences that inspire action.
Along with another funder, WPF supported remodeling an existing restroom to offer an adult changing table, dramatically increasing access to the zoo and its programs for people who need this facility.

GoFarm is a nonprofit organization located in Golden, Colorado with a mission to train and support local farmers, connect people with local agriculture, and increase equitable access to nutrient-rich food grown in Colorado. Solid Rock Community Development Center is dedicated to revitalizing Southeast Colorado Springs, transforming it into a premier destination for living, business development, diverse culture, and attractions through innovative community collaboration. As part of its mission, SRCDC seeks to alleviate hunger in its neighborhoods through its Community Food Bank which is supported with this two-year grant.

The Women's Community Leadership Initiative Program is a comprehensive and transformative endeavor designed to address the pressing need for more diverse and influential women leaders in our society.
Through this 6 month program, WCLI seeks to create a dynamic and inclusive space that nurtures the growth of aspiring women leaders, ranging from young professionals to seasoned individuals looking to make a lasting impact.

The mission of Denver-based The GrowHaus is to cultivate community-driven food justice through education and food access. They offer food distribution programming and educational opportunities related to growing and cooking food, as well as overall wellness.
They strive to be a community-driven organization and are successful when the youth, families, and communities they work with are empowered to feed, nourish, and strengthen themselves and each other.

For over a decade, Spirit of the Sun has partnered with Native American communities across the nation to develop new opportunities for tribes and Native American individuals.
Based in Denver, Spirit of the Sun is founded on the belief that effective and sustainable development work recognizes the intersections of culture, community, economy, and health, and that true success is only possible through collaboration. WPF funding is for general operations.

Native Lens
(via Rocky Mountain PBS)
Native Lens was created in 2020 to highlight the work of Native American storytellers — and to combat centuries of stereotypes. The film project, hosted by KSUT Tribal Radio and Rocky Mountain PBS, amplifies Indigenous voices by showcasing films made and submitted by Indigenous people. To date, Native Lens has showcased over 38 films from North America in a mix of nonfiction and narrative storytelling.
WPF is pleased to provide a grant to support the development of their website, www.NativeLens.org, independent of Rocky Mountain PBS. The new website, which was launched at the 2024 Durango Independent Film Festival, can also be accessed in areas with low-bandwidth internet access.

Through these partnerships, they CAA provides comprehensive wellness services while addressing the needs of the local community.

Boston Impact Initiative
BII advances economic and racial justice by building a sustainable and inclusive economy where entrepreneurs and communities of color have financial, social, and political power. BII is at the forefront of impact investing in the United States by making important investments in BIPOC-owned businesses and community-controlled real estate and by helping to educate other organizations on how to do the same. This grant supports BII’s general operations.

Hillside Connection
Hillside Connection was founded in 2017 to leverage the game of basketball to create pathways to opportunity for kids in Southern Colorado Springs. Youth participate in basketball clinics, enrichment activities, community engagement activities, and basketball leagues while being exposed to leaders throughout the Pikes Peak Region.
WPF provides general support to supports organizations like Hillside Connection,offering opportunities to youth that open doors to community, relationships, and personal development in neighborhoods historically negatively impacted by economic and racial inequity.
